That summer I noticed an oriole kept landing in the big cottonwood tree in my backyard, and I often saw him at the very end of a branch.Turns out there was a nest hidden in a cluster of large leaves at the end of that branch. One Saturday morning I got to see dad encourage one of the babies to come out of the nest.
So would I recommend this feeder? You bet . . . it's not every day you get to see a baby oriole leave his nest.Be sure to keep the feeder stocked in grape jelly. They loved it!My oriole clung to the stem of this feeder and bent over to slurp up the jelly.I recommend buying the grape jelly in the squeeze bottle, and be sure to label it so the kids don't use it for their sandwiches.
